Algemeen

Intra-oraal onderzoek van de weke weefsels

1. Wanneer:

• Op stage: op aangeven van supervisor
• Theoretisch: bij elke nieuwe patiënt en bij elk periodiek mondonderzoek

2.Leg uit aan patiënt wat je gaat doen

3.Patiënt

• Verwijdert uitneembare gebitsprothese/beugel (leg dit op het vaste tablet in een aluminium bakje)
• Verwijdert lipstick met tissue

4.Behandelaar

• Legt nodige materiaal klaar: vierkante gaasjes – wattenstaafje – mondspiegel
• Respecteert het hygiëne protocol
• Onderzoekt in zittende positie – legt patiënt in (half)liggende positie
• Maakt gebruik van de compressietechniek en vingertoppen

5. Inspecteer en onderzoek in systematische volgorde volgende structuren

Voorbereidende inspectie lippen- mondholte

• Lippen e.o + algemeen overzicht i.o. van lippen en mondholte
• Zijn er letsels zijn die extra voorzichtigheid/aanpassing/uitstel van het i.o. MO vereisen (herpetische letsels, ontstoken keel, ...)?

Grondige i.o. inspectie: mucosa onderlip-bovenlip – wang

• Indien bijzonderheden/letsels: documenteer nauwkeurig en zorg voor opvolging/doorverwijzing

Extra-oraal onderzoek

1.Wanneer:

• Op stage: op aangeven van supervisor
• Theoretisch: bij elke nieuwe patiënt en bij elk periodiek mondonderzoek

2.Leg uit aan patiënt wat je gaat doen

3.Patiënt

• Zit rechtop, zonder hoofdsteun
• Verwijdert bril
• Maakt kledij los t.h.v. hals

4.Behandelaar

• Respecteert het hygiëne protocol
• Onderzoekt rechtopstaand (of zittend)
• Maakt gebruik van de compressietechniek en vingertoppen

5.Algemene observatie van hoofd, nek, gezicht en huid (bv. asymmetrie, mondademhaling, ...)

6.Inspecteer en palpeer in systematische volgorde volgende structuren
